Device Compatibility

This page lists tested playback compatibility for anelo stereo output across common devices and players.

VR headsets

• Meta Quest 2 / 3 / Pro: Half SBS in MKV. Use Skybox VR Player, Pigasus, or the native Media app.
• Apple Vision Pro: MV-HEVC in MOV. Plays in the native Photos and Apple TV apps.
• PlayStation VR2: Half SBS in MP4. Use the built-in media player or Littlstar.
• Valve Index / HTC Vive: Half SBS in MKV. Use Virtual Desktop, Bigscreen, or DeoVR.

3D TVs and monitors

• LG 3D TVs: Full SBS or half SBS. Use the built-in media player with 3D mode enabled.
• Samsung 3D TVs: Half SBS recommended. Full SBS may not be supported on older models.
• 3D monitors (NVIDIA 3D Vision): Full SBS with appropriate driver configuration.

Desktop players

• VLC: Supports anaglyph and SBS with the 3D output module.
• Stereoscopic Player: Full SBS, half SBS, top-bottom, and anaglyph.
• Bino: Open-source stereoscopic player for Linux and macOS.

Mobile

• Cardboard-compatible apps on Android and iOS can play half SBS video.
• Most mobile VR players support half SBS in MKV or MP4 containers.

Codec notes

MKV containers with H.265/HEVC are the most widely compatible across VR players. H.264 is more broadly supported on older devices but produces larger files at equivalent quality. MV-HEVC is Apple-only.
